Fiorentina won its first match of the season against Udinese on the 25th August 2012. Viola’ star Stevan Jovetic scored 2 goals (the last at the 91st minute), allowing Fiorentina to start this Serie A edition in the best way possible.
New players had a good impact on the match: David Pizarro, Borja Valero, Alberto Aquilani, Cuadrado and Mounir El Hamdaoui are going to be fundamental all throughout the season.
Udinese scored in the first half with their new striker Maicosuel, but Fiorentina had more attempts on goal; Adem Ljajic seemed a new player compared to the last season, ready to fire all the time.
In the second half Fiorentina started playing how coach Montella probably wanted them to do. A net of interchanges that allowed the Viola to have the control of the match. Jovetic scored twice and Fiorentina won 2-1. Udinese will play next Tuesday against Braga the qualification for the Champion’s League, while Fiorentina will go to Napoli for the next match scheduled on Sunday the 2nd (September) at 20.45 Italian time.
A good start…waiting for the coming new striker!
